Notes - Well, there is no proof (e.g., a marriage record) to show that the Elizabeth Dorey (or DAREE) who married Stephen Innes was the same Elizabeth DOREY who is d/o Fanny SLAUENWHITE and so everything seems to hinge on circumstantial evidence. First, she is the age age and in the right place at the right time. More importantly, Iris Shea has found a will in which an Elizabeth DOREY leaves a house to the granddaughter of Stephen and Elizabeth INNES and all remaining property to a William DOREY.
The Elizabeth DOREY who bequeaths the house seems to be Elizabeth (Dauphinee) DOREY, wife of William Alexander Dorey. If this is correct she is probably the sister-in-law of the Elizabeth DOREY who m. Stephen INNES as well as the mother of William DOREY, b. 1835, and would explain why she leaves the property as she does. [Bob H]
