Of the two, it would seem more likely that he marries the latter. It is known that the father of Maria Dorothea 1803 moved to Chester, and her marriage to James Fred appears in the SSAC register. Since James Fred was born at SMB, it seems more likely that he would marry someone from that area. Whether James Fred DOREY married Maria Dorothea SCHNARE b. 1793 or her niece, Maria Dorothea Elizabeth SCHNARE b. 1803 is an open question.
