  Catherine, b. 1791, d/o Johann Philip Tanner is identified as the wife of John Jacob Baker by her father's will, abstracted by Dave Tanner as follows: "WILL: dated Sep 29 1820 says wife Catherine, sons William & George & 7 dtrs Barbara Herman, Fanny Sartie, Regina Becker, Magdalena Church, Charlotte Park, Catherine Becker & Mary Tanner." On her 1869 death record, Margaret's parents are listed as George and Elizabeth; however, Dave Tanner states that only two TANNER women ever lived on the Tancook Islands, and neither was a Catherine of George and Elizabeth. Since the informant of Catherine's death (Gaspar LEVY) was not a relative, it seems likely that he didn't know her parents' names for certain and did the best he could.
