  • Notes
    • John Lacy CORKUM is placed here for two reasons. First, he seems to have been born in Chester and second, his middle name is Lacy, which is an extremely unusual name. There was a Richard Porch LACY who lived in Chester and married Catherine Sophia CORKUM, the d/o Georg Heinrich and Elizabeth (COLLICUTT) CORKUM, and that seems to be the only association of the name "Lacy" with the CORKUM family. It would not be unusual if one of Sophia's brothers gave one of his sons the middle name--Lacy; if so, the only brother who has a space in his birth order would appear to be Johannes. So, for want of a better theory or a better fit, John Lacy is placed here with Johannes and Martha (ETTER) CORKUM, even though I don't necessarily believe it.
