Notes - Walter HUBLEY, b. 1882, appears in the 1901 Census of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, in the family of Stanley and Martha HUBLEY where he is listed as an adopted son. He is only five years younger than Stanley and two years younger than his wife, so somehow, the term “adopted son” does not seem to fit.
Also living with Stanley and Martha in 1901 is Stanley's mother, Elizabeth (WAMBACH) HUBLEY, who is newly widowed., so it would seem that Walter came to the household with Elizabeth. Now Elizabeth is born in 1831 so it hardly seems likely that he is Elizabeth's son.
My guess is that he is the illegitimate son of one of Elizabeth's daughters. [Bob H]
