  Rachel's parentage is not certain; however: a. According to the Register of the Parish of SMB, John FEATHER [FEADER], b. 16 Jul 1837, was the 3rd child of John and Ellen FEATHER [FEADER]. b. We know that son Thomas Alfred FADER is b. 13 Jul 1835. c. The 1871, 1881, and 1891 Censuses all place Rachel's birth in 1834/1835, so she could fit into the birth order as the first child, if born 1834 [or as a twin of Thomas Alfred]. d. At her marriage to Neil Croucher MacLEAN, one of the witnesses is a Susannah FADER, who would be her sister. e. She lives in the right place at the right time. So until evidence is unearthed that would negate this placement, she will be carried in this family. [Bob H]
