  The DOB shown for this Garrett HUBLEY--14 Jan 1841--is a composite of his 1881, 1891, and 1901 Census entries, in which his ages are 38, 49, and 60, respectively. The parents of this Garrett HUBLEY are not known. What is known is that, in the records of his marriage, he is said to be a seaman of LaHave. Of the HUBLEY's who were having children in the LaHave area in the early 1840's, Jacob HUBLEY has a son named John Edward who in turn has a son Garrett HUBLEY, b. 1883. Since there are no other Garrett HUBLEY's before 1883 that I know of (at least at the moment), there is the possibility that Garrett 1883 is named after an uncle. Also, the 1861 Census shows a male, age 15-20, who is otherwise unaccounted for, living in Jacob's household. This could be Garrett. For my purposes, Garrett HUBLEY b. 1841 must be carried somewhere, and the family of Jacob is at least at the right place at the right time, and seems to have an entry in the 1861 Census which could be Garrett. So he has been placed there, or the moment, based on [hardly the best] circumstantial evidence. [Bob H]
