  • Notes
    • Edmund Langille's 1898 notes on the BAKER family say this about Anna Catherine [Kate] BAKER:

      Christopher’s race. Kate married 2nd Peter Wilneff. Children. 1 Eliza 2 Sam 3 Bella 4 Nelson 5 Geo. 6 Isiah 7 Margret 8 Elizebeth (twins), 9 Lucy.
Kate first married James Byers & had one son James.

Note that the children appear to be in strict birth order [except that Edmund is missing son Solomon], which would make Lucy the youngest; however, unlike all the other children no birth/baptismal record for Lucy is known.

In 1868, Delilah THOMAS is born at Tancook, and her birth record names her parents as Joseph THOMAS and Lucy WILNEFF who m. 15 Aug 1865 at Tancook. If we assume that this Lucy was born on Tancook, then she must be the Lucy in Edmund Langille's notes and the only question is--is she a daughter or an illegitimate granddaughter. The 1871 Census place this Lucy's birth in 1845, when her mother would have been 44, so it is plausible that she was a daughter. Further, an 1845 birth gibes with Lucy's placement at the end of the birth order.
