Notes - At marriage, she gives her parents as Frederick and Mary Ann, but the problem is--which Frederick. One clue is that, in 1881 a person who appear to be d/o Frederick and Mary Ann (VEINOT) CROUSE is living in here househould. But the most telling point is as follows.
Based on studying [the transcripts of] various birth records, I had concluded that there were three active families headed by a Frederick CROUSE in the relevant time period, each of whom had a wife with given names being some combination of Mary and Anna (or variants thereof). But that turns out not to be true. Specifically, the LWT of Frederick CROUSE, Sr., h/o Anna Maria WENTZELL, lists 10 children as heirs--Fred Jr., Jeffrey, Alfred, Fabian, William Henry, Lucy Ann, Melinda, Lavinia, Celida, and Abigail. And this list of children includes all of the children that I had previously thought were in the two Fred CROUSE families other than Mary Ann VEINOT's. Note that there is no daughter named Elizabeth, and we know that the Elizabeth who m. William Enos VEINOT was alive and well when the will was probated in 1852. That being the case, by process of elimination, Elizabeth apparently must belong to Fred and Mary Ann (VEINOT) CROUSE.
