  • Notes
    • This Peter MOSER is a puzzle. The conventional wisdom places him in the 1901 Census, in the family of John Jacob and Mary Dorothy (BUSHEN) MOSER, but I have grave doubts about this beCAUSe:

          a. In 1871 and at marriage, he is Methodist (his wife is C of E in 1871, so she does not explain a Methodist marriage)
      b.  At marriage he says he was born at Lunenburg, not West Dublin
      c.  A nine years gap in John Jacob's birth order looks highly suspect
      d.  I don't see no real evidence that suggests he belongs in this family.

A sort on all the MOSER's of Lunenburg County quickly comes to that of Frederick and Sophia (WINTERS) MOSER beCAUSe:

          a.  They are Methodist
      b.  At least two of their children are known to have been born at Lunenburg and the rest appears to have been born next door at First South.
      c.  At least one genealogy has a John b. abt. 1839 in this family.

The problem with placing him in the family of Fred and Sophia is twofold:

      a. Even though he is living when Fred dies, he does not appear in Fred's will while every other son does.
      b. If Fred and Sophia are his parents, why does he give his parents as Jacob and Mary at marriage?

In searching through the MOSER couples that I know of who bore the names Jacob and Mary, the only one that seems to fit is this one. So on balance, there appears to be no reasonable alternative to placing him here, pending further discoveries.
