    • The problem here is--which Elizabeth/Eliza JOLLIMORE married John HARTLEN and which married John BOUTILIER. At present there is no direct proof, one way or the other.

      The only circumstantial evidence available is that normally, the older sister would marry first, which is weak evidence at best. However, it is the only known basis on which to choose one over the other at present, so that is how they have been shown herein (for the moment). [Bob H--23 Feb 2002]

    • In John Boutilier's marriage record, his father is given as Boehner Boutilier and his mother as “Marg”, but the name “Boehner” appears nowhere else. The most likely candidates for John's parents appear to be John George and Margaretta (Veinot] Boutilier. John and Margaret's first child is unnamed in the church register, but is b. 31 Aug 1827 at St. Margaret's Bay.
