Notes - The parents of Margaret GRONO have not been proven. What is known is as follows:
a. There is some evidence that Margaret was born at Oldham. If Fred GRONO dies at Oldham, then there is a connection of some sort
b. There is a gap in Fred's birth order into which Margaret fits.
c. The DOB of the Mary GRONO in the 1881 Census who appears to be Margaret's mother exactly the DOB of Mary Magdalene (BOUTILIER) GRONO
d. She has to be somebody's daughter, and it would appear that there are only three candidates:
1) George and Mary (MOORE) GRONO: Margaret's birth appears to conflict with that of daughter Mary Jane, and Mary MOORE's DOB appears to be off by five years (1811) (assuming one believes the 1881 Census).
2) James and Mary (HERRIT [widow]) GREENOUGH: Terry Punch has him as James GRENNAN vice James GREENOUGH and, although it's not hardly admissible as evidence, this one just doesn't smell right :-)
3) Fred and Mary (BOUTILIER) GRONO.
e. In the SPFV baptismal record for David GRONO, s/o Fred, his mother's name is given as Margaret.
The problem is that if Margaret (1846) were born at Oldham, this sticks out like a sore thumb if all of her assumed siblings were born at SMB. But, I believe that the weight of evidence suggests she belongs to Fred and Mary (BOUTILIER) GRONO. [Bob H]
