  Sarah Elizabeth MOSHER is single in 1881 and, when she marries Freeman RISSER in 1889, she states that she is a widow. However, there is no known marriage record for her. Now In the 1891 Census, a lodger named Effie MOSHER appears in the household of Freeman and Sarah (MOSHER) RISSER and, in the 1901 Census, this Effie MOSHER has become Effie REID, step-daughter of Freeman RISSER. In her 1904 mearriage record, Effie gives her name as REID and her parents are listed as Anthony (a soldier) and Sarah. So, from all of this is, it would appear that there never was a marriage between Sarah MOSHER and Anthony REID and that Sarah simply declared herself to be a "geographic" widow.
