• Notes

  Anna Catherine YOUNG is a mystery. At her marriage to Jacob Friedrich SCHLAGENWEID, the Zion Lutheran Parish Register names her the d/o of Johann Caspar YOUNG, which considerably narrows down who this might be. The problem is that none of the Johann Caspar YOUNG's have a daughter named Anna Catherine whom this might be. However, there is a separate document which names her Anna Catherine Barbara. The only other clue is that, on her death, Jacob Fred. m. Maria Magdalena (YOUNG) EISENHAUER, d/o Johann Caspar and Magdalena (SAWLER) YOUNG. Maria Magdalena has a sister, Anna Maria Barbara YOUNG, b. 1816, about whom nothing is known after her christening. She also has a sister named Anna Catherine Barbara YOUNG; but this half-sister m. Johann Caspar SMITH and she is b. 1791 so is considerably older that Jacob Fred SLAUENWHITE. So, my best guess is that there is a mistake in a register somewhere and that Anna Catherine, first wife of Jacob Fred. SLAUENWHITE, is actually Anna Maria Barbara 1816. ---Bob H---
