    • The question as to the identity of the Mary HARNISH who m. Henry Sawler in 1829 seems resolved by the following deed, in which she is named Mary Elizabeth:

      Deed #3: Halifax County, vol #86,. pages 412-414, Mary Elizabeth Sauler to Charles Harnish, reg. 5 April 1844, written 22 March 1844 between Mary Elizabeth Sauler, Hubberts Cove, SMB, widow and heir of the late Henry Sauler, deceased, for in consideration of 41 pounds from Charles Harnish ...all her right and title to 30 acres on WSMB on the west side of a cove known as Hubbard's Cove conveyed to the said Henry Sauler by Edward Sauler on 30 October 1841, the said Edward Sauler being the Only remaining grandson of Edward Harnish and Charlotte Harnish of SMB, deceased...being the same lot of land conveyed by one Gottlip Harnish to the said Edward Harnish by deed 18 April 1793. signed by mark: Mary Sauler [Transcribed by Brenda Maruca]
