  Her marriage record lists her as the daughter of John and Addie LEMAN, and gives her place of birth as Plaistow, NH. However, in the 1940 Census, she is born in MA and is living with and listed as the daughter of Ethel (Fairbanks) NELSON. So either the 1940 census is in error, or she was the illegitimate daughter of Ethel who was adopted by the LEMAN couple. Inasmuch as she does not appear to have either a MA or a NH birth record, the latter seems more likely.
