• Notes

  In the 1901 Census, Margarethe (WELCKER) HEGERICH reports that she has had five children, three of whom are living. However, only four have been accounted for to date. Since MA kept excellent records even in the 1860's. it appears that the fifth child was not born, and did not die, in MA. It is possible that the fifth child may have appeared in the 1855 Census of NYC. However, the census of Ward 17, where Adam Kaspar and Margaretha probably lived, is missing. [Bob H]
