Notes - As with other children in this family, it is difficult to trace this person from birth to maturity. The is an Albert SAWLER, b. abt. 1861 who appears in the 1871 Census, and then he seems to become Almon, b. abt 1861 in the 1881 Census. But then, he disappears. However, in 1896, a heretofore unknown son of James and Eliza named John Alfred mysteriously appears and marries Lena Alice ADAMS. Then, in 1901, there appears a mysterious Albert SAWLER, widower, who is clearly the brother of Firman and Freeman SAWLER of this family, but who is born 1864; and John Alfred has disappeared. Further, Lena Alice has disappeared, possibly indicating that she is the wife of this Albert.
Although his name and date of birth jumps around, it would seem to me that the simplest explanation of the above is that it is all the same person, carried here as John Albert. Just when he was actually born is not clear, but he is carried as b. 1861 beCAUSe at least the 1871 and 1881 Censuses agree on that date and they are records made closer to his actual birth.
