Notes - Apparently, Kitty BOUTILIER lived in the home of Jacob and Charlotte (UMLAH) JOHNSON, possibly as a maid, when she had Mary, James, and Eliza. At some point Jacob acknowledged that these children were his and, after Charlotte's death, he married Kitty . So James, Mary, and Eliza are always seen with the JOHNSON surname. Kitty also has George Winter before marrying Jacob; however, although he subsequently lives in Jacob's household, he is never acknowledged by, and so does not appear to be, the biological child of Jacob. Finally, William BOUTILIER, who appears as Kitty's illegitimate son in the SPFV records, appears to have had a completely different father (who is not named in the baptismal record). [Bob H]
