  The SPAH marriage record states that, on 12 Dec 1854, Charles HARNISH, widower, m. Mary Ann DAUPHINEE, widow, both living near Chester. There are only two Charles HARNISH's who could be the husband of this Mary Ann DAUPHINEE--Charles s/o John George and Polly HARNISH, and Charles Henry, s/o John Jacob and Maria Magdalena HARNISH. The latter (I think) m. Mary Ann DAUPHINEE in 1848 and the latter marries Rachel WESTHAVER in 1843. However, Rachel dies in July 1848, leaving Charles Henry with five small children and it would not be unusual for a widower in this situation to remarry within six months. Further, most of these children were baptised at SSAC, making a Chester connection. So I think that Charles Henry is the more likely of the two candidates. [Bob H]
