• Notes

  Son WiIliam and daughters Bernice, Margaret, and Shirley, all living, are listed in Cynthia's obit, but not in Hosea's. Also, the obit for son Seldon SMITH lists them as half-siblings. So, it would appear that they belong to Cynthia and an unidentified father [or fathers]. Since Cynthia is an age 16 spinster when she marries Hosea, it would appear that these four children are all younger than their half-siblings.
