It is unlcear whether he remained in the US as there does not seem to be a naturalization record for him, nor does he appear in any US Census. In Feb 1964, he applies for a NS Delayed Registration of Birth, but his actual residence at the time is not stated. There is an Jan 1965 obit for a Walter HODGSON of Port Hood, Guysborough and this could be him.
