Notes - She first appears on the 1891 Census of Hackett's Cove as a 2-year old named Clara BOUTILIER. We know that her mother, Rebecca SADLER marries William Albert BOUTILIER on 4 Sep 1889 and, from her cemetery marker, we know that she Clara was born one day later. In the 1891 Census, Rebecca is living with George BURGOYNE; however we also know that George and Rebecca move to MA shortly after that Census. by whom she has three more children, all in Massachusetts. Also we know that, from 1900 on, Clara apparently went by the name of Mabel I. BURGOYNE. So the question is--does Clara/Mabel belong to George BURGOYNE or William Albert BOUTILIER?
In the 1991 Census, George BURGOYNE is single, while Rebecca is listed as married and bothe Clara and Rebecca are named BOUTILIER. So my guess is that Clara/Mabel is d/o William Albert, and that William Albert marries Rebecca to make an Honest Woman of her, but the marriage lasts no longer than that.
