Notes - His godfather was Kaspar Mock, probably an uncle after whom he was named. He entered the US at New York City on Sep 14, 1852 aboard the bark Louis, 226 tons, out of Bremen, Germany; C.F. Schaue, Master. In NYC, his surname (which was actually spelled HÄGERICH) became HEGERICH.
In NYC, was a tailor, lived in a district of Manhattan known as Kleine Deutschland, and stated a personal worth of $200 in 1860. Moved from NYC to Boston between 1862-1863. In Boston, was a merchant tailor, lived at 28 Wheelers Court (Ward 9), and petitioned for US Citizenship at US District Court in Boston, Suffolk, MA on 17 October 1866. Had a “shock” in 1889 and retired to Lynn, MA, apparently leaving his son Charles his place in the business. He and his wife lived at 2 Manser Place in Lynn. He died at (Old) Lynn Hospital, and is buried with his wife in Lot #90, Gerardia Path, Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. At his death, his estate was valued at $4000. [Bob H]
