  At death, her parents are listed as Samuel MacDONALD and Olive MOSER, and she appears with them in the 1881 Census. The problem is that she is born three years before the marriage of Samuel and Olive and, at marriage, her parents are listed as Daniel and Mary Ann (BAKER) CAMERON. Further, Daniel and Mary Ann marry in 1870, and there is a large gap in their birth order between 1873 and 1881. So it might be that this is not simply a mistake in the register. I.e., it seems possible that Mary Ann (BAKER) CAMERON was unable to care for infant daughter Etta, who was then taken in by relatives. This is, of course, pure speculation.
