  The 1911 Census gives his DOB as Aug 1902, and he does not appear in the 1901 Census. However his mother is a widow in the 1901 census and he gives his age at marriage --in 1925--as 28. So either he is born in 1901, he is adopted, or there is some hanky-panky involved in his birth.
