• Notes

  Her death certificate (which names her Judith HARNISH), states that she is the d/o Elijah JENNINGS and it is clear that she was born while he was married to Emmaline ROY. It also seems clear [see the 1891 Census] that she is the illegitimate child of one of the daughters of James Philip and Harriet Louisa (SCHNARE) HARNISH. Since Elijah later married one of those daughters--Mary Ann, it seems most likely that Julia is Mary Ann's daughter, but that is far from certain as she could be easily be the daughter of Mary Ann's sister Amelia as well.
