  Notes	It is known that Melda LONGARD marries a Russell COOLEN. The question is--which one. It is also known that Melda travels to MA in 1934 and 1937 with children Ralph and Elizabeth (see her notes). But there is no known NS marriage of a Melda LONGARD and a COOLEN, nor is there a NS marriage of a Russell COOLEN to anyone, nor do a Russel or a Melda COOLEN appear in any 1900-1930 US Census. It is further known that Melda dies 1995 in Boston, MA, while Russell Glenwood COOLEN d. 1975 in Boston, MA. But the fly in the ointment is that from at least 1962 - 1985, Melda COOLEN lives in an apartment in Boston that is listed in her name, while Russell Glenwood COOLEN is a resident of Quincy, MA when he dies. There is only one other Russell COOLEN who appears in MA, and he is there long before Russell Glenwood COOLEN is born. So it seems likely that either Russell Glenwood COOLEN marries Melda in MA and they subsequently divorce or separate, or Melda marries a different Russell COOLEN and is a widow in 1962. The final fact in this puzzle is that Irma LONGARD remembers that Russell's mother's name was Amanda. Given this, it would appear that the former is correct. [Bob H]
