  In a Presbyterian Witness death announcement, a Susan Adelaide Thomas is given as the wife of John James Thomas. It is known that she was married to John James Thomas in Sambro and that the marriage was recorded at the Brunswick Street Methodist Church in Halifax. Also, it is known from a son's birth record that her maiden name was SLAUGHENWHITE. Her parents have not been positively identified; however, circumstantial evidence suggest that she is the d/o John Jacob and Anna Catharina SLAUENWHITE. First, Edward Joseph [Robert] SLAUNWHITE, has a daughter named Susan Adelaide and a connection to Sambro. Second, she would explain who the second daughter under six years of age is in her father's household in the 1838 Census of Lower Prospect. Thus she is carried here as the d/o John Jacob and Anna Catherine. [Bob H]
