What solves this problem is the following, which was cited by Brenda MAruca: Vital Stats from newspapers 1835-1839: "married 25 June 1836 at Lunenburg, John Ross and Sarah Catherine, youngest daughter of the late Captain Henry Moser". Since Sarah, d/o John Henry and Mary Catherine (CREASER) MOSHER has two younger sisters, she cannot marry John ROSS.
