Notes - Her mother's family bible notes her death as occurring on 31 Aug 1927, and other (independent) sources appear to confirm the 1927 date. However the following article was printed in 1932:

The remains of the late Mrs Brooks (nee Annie Slauenwhite) daughter of Mr and Mrs Allen Slauenwhite, arrived from the U. S. on Saturday and funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon. Deceased was at one time a waitress in the restaurant of G. M. Parks, Halifax. She is survived by a husband, and three small children.
The only explanation I can think of is that the “funeral service” referred to in the article was actually a re-burial service. [Bob B]
