  Notes	In 1906, one William Ivan FADER who states that he is age 27 and born Yarmouth, s/o Kale and Elizabeth FADER, marries Mary BARRY at Canso. His death record sates that his mother was named SMITH and that he was born 1869, and his marker says he was born 1870. The problem is--whose child is he? There is an unmarried Elizabeth SMITH at Yarmouth in 1871 who could possibly be his mother. Also, there are no FADER families in Yarmouth County, NS in the 1800's except for Caleb Evans FADER and his son Thomas. Further, there are no other FADER's in the 1800's with a name even remotely resembling Caleb or Kale. So it seems that Caleb Evans Fader, Sr. is probably his father. Now although some records place William Ivan's birth later (1877, 1879), the notion that he could be a child of Caleb and Mary DULONG just doesn't seem to fit in with what else we know of their family; e.g., the children seem to all have been baptised at St. Ambrose, and he doesn't seem to fit in the birth order. Finally, Caleb is 33 when he marries Emmeline TROOP in 1873. So what has he been doing since he was 18? My best guess at the moment is that William Ivan is the illegitimate son of Caleb Evans FADER and Elizabeth SMITH, whoever she may be. I cannot find him in the 1881 through 1901 Censuses of NS, so I will also guess that he goes to sea at a young age [the unmarried Elizabeth SMITH in the 1871 Census of Yarmouth has an older brother who is a mariner]. That would at least explain how he got from Yarmouth to Canso.
