| At her marriage to David HUBLEY, she gives her paretns names as Charles and Mary. But it can be seen from the 1881 Census that there are her grandparents. [Bob H] | TULL, Georgina (I70431)
| At her marriage to Francis Anthony Andrews, she gives her parents as David and Lillian (HARRIE) PURCELL, and she appears with that family in the 1911 Census so apparently they raised her after the death of her father Fredrick PURCELL, probably because of her mother's remarriage to John ELLIS. [Bob H] | PURCELL, Elizabeth Gertrude (I163330)
| At least one living or private individual is linked to this note - Details withheld. | MARDEN, Betty Janet (I323317)
| At least one living or private individual is linked to this note - Details withheld. | Family: Joseph A. GIAMBARESI / Thelma Evelyn GARY (F142263)
| At her marriage to Leonard BOYE, she gives her surname as WESTHAVER. | WESTHAVER, Rhoda Winetta (I42691)
| At her marriage to Walter INNES., Lydia (MORASH) HUBLEY states that she is a widow. However, note that at her first marriage, her husband--Danile HUBLEY--gives his occupation as (Sea) Captain. So I suspect that this is yet another case of geographic widowhood. [Bob H] | Family: Walter INNES / Lydia Jane MORASH (F18193)
| At his 1925 marriage, he gives his place of residence as Manville, AB. In the 1916 Census of Alberta, there is a Guy GATES, age 27, living in Mannville, AB with wife Mollie and daughter Grace. Despite the fact that his age appears to be off by two years and that the census states he was born in England, I believe this is "our" Guy GATES. | GATES, Guy Joseph (I136610)
| At his marriage in 1921, he lists his mother as Annie MARTIN but lists his father as William J. BURNS and gives his surname as BURNS, but It does not seem possible that Annie could have married William BURNS or that William BURNS was his biological father. Also, his obit gives the surname of his siblings as BURNS, which appears to be a mistaken assumption by someone. The proof that William SPEARS and Frank BURNS are the same person is the list of siblings in his obit. | SPEARS, William Frank (I347407)
| At his marriage to Priscilla PELLEY in 1905, son E. Amos HUBLEY gives his parents as Alexander HUBLEY and Louisa DEMOND. In other records , she appears as Lucy. But when daughter Lucy HUBLEY marries Joshua MINNICH, she gives her parents's name as Alexander and Ellen. So Lucy will be carried here as Louisa [Lucy] Ellen. [Bob H] | DEMONE, Louisa Ellen (I2833)
| At his marriage to Verna WARNER, George DORAN states that his surname is "WARD" (the maiden name of his second wife), and that he has not been previously married, despite that fact that he has had two wives-one in MI and one in NC--and (at least) eight children! So, it would appear that he is a double bigamist. | DORAN, George Sylvester (I342307)
| At his second marriage, he gives his mother's maiden name as Mary M. KOPF. | (--?--), Ellen (I252868)
| At least one genealogy has her marrying a Walter SCOTT. However, it can be shown that the Edith who marries Walter SCOTT is from PEI and that her maiden name is REILLY. | DAVIDSON, Edith (I160644)
| At least one genealogy lists sons Loren, b. 10 Dec 1872, of whom there is no further record, and James L. b. 10 Aug 1875. However, a birth on 10 Dec 1872 would conflict with the birth of daughter Etta on 26 Jul 1873. Further, the 1881 Census lists a son named Loren, b. 1875, but no son James; and when James L. HATT marries Mary MILLER, his name is recorded as "Lorein" HATT. Finally, his name in the 1991 Census is James Loren HATT. So I believe that James and Loren are the same person. | HATT, James Loren (I143614)
| At least one genealogy shows him as the William Green MacKENZIE who moves his family to SK. However, in the 1891 Census, the wife of that William MacKenize has a mother born in Scotland. | MACKENZIE, William S. (I151953)
| At least one researcher places Wesley LEVY (1878 - 1888) as a son in this family. However, he is known to be the son of Amos Levy. | Family: Austin LEVY / Angeline STEVENS (F18167)
| At least one source adds a son named Winston, b. 24 Jun 1895. But to me y eye, Winston looks very much like the "Whraton" FADER b. 24 Jun 1885 who appears with parents Henry and Sarah in the 1901 Census. On the actual Census page, the year of birth is blurred and could easily be read as 24 Jun 1895; however, his age is given as 16. And, since Rayton's DOB in the SSDI is 28 Jun 1884, I tend to think that Whraton and Winston are actually Rayton. | FADER, Rayton Elliot (I130540)
| At least one source lists a son named William TURNER in this family who was a photographer and had a studio just outside of Boston. However, there is no trace of a William Turner who fits this description in any known Massachusetts record. On the other hand, son Abner TURNER is know to be a photographer and lives in the Boston suburbs at least from 1873 - 1880, before moving to California. | Family: George TURNER / Sophia Magdalena FADER (F5369)
| At least three independent records give her father as Dennis SLAUENWHITE. However, she appears in various records that show her maiden names as AULENBACK, LANGILLE, and "SWELLENBACH"; and while there is no proof at hand that she is the daughter of Dennis Micah SLAUENWHITE, all others appear to be ruled out. Family legend has it that there exists, somewhere, a Lunenburg Church baptismal record that names her parents. She appears to have been the illegitimate daughter of Eseline Seporah AULENBACK beCAUSe first, she appears to have been born on 25 Mar 1894; second, in the 1901 Census she is living with her AULENBACH grandparents, not Demas and Eseline (AULENBACH) LANGILLE, and her surname is listed as AULENBACH; and third, on her HECOX marriage certificate, her parents are given as as Dennis SLAUENWHITE and Eseline "AULENBERG". In the 1911 Census, she is living with Demas and her surname is listed as LANGILLE, and she is also listed in Demas LANGILLE's obit as a daughter. | AULENBACK, Amelia Luella (I250451)
| At least three obits [those of Elmer and Jean (KNOX) PENNEY and that of brother Brenton] list her as daughter in this family. However, the obits for her aunt Arleen and Arleen's husband Bruce MADER also list her as a daughter. Just whose biological daughter she actually is is uncertain [at least for me]. | PENNEY, Carla Lois (I207560)
| At least two of th | GILBERT, Carol (I44613)
| At least two of their children were named GILBERT, but both of their obits state that Phyllis was the mother of Hedley's children, some of whom were born while she was married to Albert GILBERT. Note the fact that Albert's occupation was listed as Seaman. | Family: Hedley BENNETT / Phyllis Moore SCOTNEY (F18530)
| At marriage in 1897, Edith Oliver gives her age as 21 and her parents as Charles OLIVER and Anna PENNEY. However, in the 1891 Census, her age is listed as 5, and her parents ages are 29 and 24, respectively. But if Edith was born in 1876, her mother, Anna, would have been age ten at the time; so Edith is lying about her age and she is age 13 at most. This is verified by the fact that that, when she m. Colin SARTY in 1915, she gives her age as 29, which would place her birth in 1886, and that agrees with the 1891 Census. | OLIVER, Edith N. (I82019)
| At marriage in 1905, she gives her age as 27 and her parents as William GATES and Susan HAWKINS. But she does not appear with the family in the 1881 or 1891 Census, which leads to the suspicion not have been their biological daughter. | GATES, Mabel B. (I224415)
| At marriage in 1905, she gives her age as 27, but she does not appear with the family in the 1881 (or 1891) Census. | GATES, Mabel B. (I224415)
| At marriage in Sep 1928, he gives his age as 18, which is an obvious fib as he does not appear in the 1911 Census. Avalon Lawlor gives his DOB as 8 Sep 1911. | ZWICKER, Carl Benjamin (I64263)
| At marriage she gives her parents as William and Harriet, she also gives her maiden name as FRASER and she is born about 4 years before the marriage of William and Harriet. So the question seems to be--whose child is she? | FRASER, Olive Manira (I158072)
| At marriage she lists her parents as Isaac and Catherine ZINCK, and she is seen living with them in the 1901 Census. It is eminently possible that Catherine gave birth to her at age 45, but she might also be a grand-daughter. | ZINCK, Laura Alice (I151571)
| At marriage the age she gives places her birth in 1912. Her death record places her birth in 1910, but she doesn't appear in the 1911 Census. | THORNE, Marguerite (I325699)
| At marriage to Evelyn NYGARD, he was divorced from a previous wife. | LEECH, Alonzo Earl (I305925)
| At marriage to John NUTE, although her known biological paretns' names are listed correctly, she is listed as Ida M. JUDD. Further, this is listed as her first marriage. So it would appear that this is a registration error. | MCNAYR, Lillie May [Twin] (I232894)
| At marriage, he gives his name as Joseph J. DUGUAY and his residence as Mexico, ME.; however, others have him as John DUGUAY and there are several known people this could be. The circumstantial evidence which leads to this John A DUGUAY is that Madeline (KAULBACK) DUGUAY dies in Rumford as does this John A. DUGUAY, and there are no other John or Joseph DUGUAY about whom this can be said. | DUGUAY, John (I176645)
| At marriage, he gives his name as Kenneth SCHOFIELD. He had his name legally changed to Kenneth Lawrence MILLETT in 1957. | MILLETT, Kenneth Lawrence (I270200)
| At marriage, he gives his parents as Edward and Catherine. He does not seem to belong to Edward 1819 and Maria Catherine (Demone) Lohnes, and althought it is possible that he is the brother of Daniel Edward Lohnes 1836, Daniel Edward cannot belong to these paretns. | LOHNES, Abram Stephen (I337339)
| At marriage, he gives his parents as Ezekiel and Hannah (RAMEY) HUBLEY, and in the 1901 Census he is living with Willis Jeremiah HUBLEY, s/o Ezekiel and Hannah, where he is listed as a boarder. Also, on his death record, his parents are listed as unknown. Hannah would have been 50 when he is born in 1884, and there is a fourteen year gap between Hannah's youngest known child--Willis Jeremiah-- and William. So he looks more like either an adopted child or the illegitimate child of one of Hannah's other children. [Bob H] | HUBLEY, William Isaac (I97675)
| At marriage, he gives his parents as Henry and Louise SCHWARTZ; however, in the 1911 Census and on John SCHWARTZ' death record, he is listed as the son of John. He could be John's brother; however, Louise SCHWARTZ would have been 46 in 1879, so it seems more likely that he was the illegitimate son of John and was raised by his grandparents. In either event, was the Mayor of Lunenburg from 1922 - 1929 and from 1934 - 1945. | SCHWARTZ, Arthur Willam (I112030)
| At marriage, he gives his parents as Jeffrey and Ann FLEET; however, in the 1901 Census, he is listed as the grandson of Jeffrey FLEET, and it is highly unlikely that he is son of wife Sophia Ann (SMITH) FLEET due to her age, 53, when he is born. So he would appear to be the illegitimate son of one of the children of Jeffrey FLEET by his first wife, Maria PACE. | FLEET, Charles Augustus (I160748)
| At marriage, he gives his parents as John and Mary GAETZ. However, they were born in 1814 and 1820 respectively (according to the 1881 Census), so they would appear to be his grandparents (who probably raised him). | GATES, William Aubrey (I136604)
| At marriage, he gives his parents' name as Fred and Mary POPE. This is apparently because Fred , who was single, lived with his mother, Mary, after her husband David's death in 1900. From the 1901 Census, Stanley does not arrive in the household until after David's death. So it would appear that he was not formally adopted. | POPE, Stanley Stanford (I89199)
| At marriage, he gives his place of birth as (what looks like) Lamartin, NH, USA. | BURKE, Phillip C. (I176184)
| At marriage, he gives his residence as New York. | EISENHAUER, George H. (I174223)
| At marriage, he lists his grandparents as his parents. | HEBB, Ernest Wilson (I233405)
| At marriage, he states that he doesn't know who his parents were, but that he was born at Clearland. In the 1911 Census, he is living with Alfred and Louisa AWALT at Clearland, and since they are both approx. 70 years of age, there is some possibility that they are his grandparents. | RODENHISER, Clarence Lawson (I218149)
| At marriage, Joseph JOUDREY gives his mother's name as Amelia; but that would appear to be his step-mother, Amelia (CORKUM) CORKUM. | (--?--) (I258807)
| At marriage, Robert William MOSER and Emily HOOPER state that they are single. Yet, according to the 1871 Census, their oldest child is born five years before their marriage. My suspicion is that the census-taker may have guessed their ages. | Family: Robert William MOSHER / Emily HOOPER (F61957)
| At marriage, she gives her father's name as Daniel MACKINTOSH. However, family sources indicate that neither Daniel JOHNSON nor [an otherwise unknown] Daniel MACKINTOSH was her father, although certainly she was raised by Daniel JOHNSON until his death. One possible explanation is that the minister filling in the marriage return slip mistakenly used a combination of Daniel JOHNSON's given name and her husband's mother's maiden name. | JOHNSON, Pearl Teresa (I102740)
| At marriage, she gives her parents as Edward DEMPSEY and Alice HARTLEN, and she is listed as a sister in the obit of Parker Patrick DEMPSEY. However, she appears as May HARTLEN in the 1911 Census is living with her HARTELN grandparents. Since she is born five years before Edward and Alice' marriage, it would appear that she is the biological daughter of Alice, but not necessarily of Edward. | HARTLEN, Lalia May (I187019)
| At marriage, she gives her parents as Frederick and Mary Ann, but the problem is--which Frederick. One clue is that, in 1881 a person who appear to be d/o Frederick and Mary Ann (VEINOT) CROUSE is living in here househould. But the most telling point is as follows. Based on studying [the transcripts of] various birth records, I had concluded that there were three active families headed by a Frederick CROUSE in the relevant time period, each of whom had a wife with given names being some combination of Mary and Anna (or variants thereof). But that turns out not to be true. Specifically, the LWT of Frederick CROUSE, Sr., h/o Anna Maria WENTZELL, lists 10 children as heirs--Fred Jr., Jeffrey, Alfred, Fabian, William Henry, Lucy Ann, Melinda, Lavinia, Celida, and Abigail. And this list of children includes all of the children that I had previously thought were in the two Fred CROUSE families other than Mary Ann VEINOT's. Note that there is no daughter named Elizabeth, and we know that the Elizabeth who m. William Enos VEINOT was alive and well when the will was probated in 1852. That being the case, by process of elimination, Elizabeth apparently must belong to Fred and Mary Ann (VEINOT) CROUSE. | CROUSE, Elizabeth (I219914)
| At marriage, she gives her parents as George and Lydia SMITH; however, she does not appear with the family in either the 1871 or 1881 Census and Lydia would be about 47 when she was born. On the other hand, when she dies, her husband immediately marries another daughter of George and Lydia. At first blush, it would seem that either the census taker overlooked her, she is the illegitimate child of one of George and Lydia's other children, or she was adopted or taken in by George and Lydia. However, in the 1881 Census, there is a Lucretia CAMERON b. 1870 in the household of George and Lydia. So My guess is that Annie SMITH is actually Annie Lucretia CAMERON. | SMITH, Annie (I160005)
| At marriage, she gives her parents as Patrick and Mary. Whether she is the child of Leopold or Mary Ann by a previous relationship or is imply their “premature” child is unknown. | DERRICK, Annie (I103986)
| At marriage, she gives her parents as Peter and Sophia (LOY) ERNST, but her obit names her parents as Titus and Victoria ERNST. One would suspect that her marriage record is the more accurate of the two documents, but she does fit nicely into Titus and Victoria's birth order. | ERNST, Mabel Annie Belle (I175081)
